17th Street Arts Festival this weekend in Cheyenne

The 17th Street Arts Festival takes place Aug. 16-17 in downtown Cheyenne. The two-day festival features dozens of juried visual and performance artists from around the region, workshops for young people to learn about their artistic talents and food and activities for the entire family.

The event showcases and celebrates local creativity in all its forms and provides Cheyenne residents and visitors with a unique arts-related experience.

17th Street Arts Festival is held in the Downtown Dinneen Plaza in Cheyenne. From I-25 take the Lincolnway exit and head east into downtown or head east on I-80 from I-25 and take the downtown exit (Highway 180) and head north into downtown.

More than 2,500 people attended the 2012 event. This year’s event will feature a larger visual artists tent, additional performers on the street and the performance stage, an expanded Emmie’s Corner children’s workshop section and a diverse local food and fine crafts display area.

The event is organized by Arts Cheyenne, with programming and logistics support from the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority, the Dinneen Family and a host of enthusiastic volunteers.
