Baja Broadband is changing its name to reflect its parent company, TDS Telecom. As part of a rebrand effort, the cable company will be known as TDS beginning May 11.
TDS, the nation’s seventh-largest telecommunications provider, acquired Baja Broadband in 2013 with the intent of bringing more advanced technology to customers. Since then, Baja Broadband and TDS employees have worked side-by-side, improving infrastructure and equipment, as well as introducing expanded channel lineups, more options in data speed and enhanced support services. Overall, TDS has invested more than $11 million in improvements.
“We still have work to do, but these initial improvements provide the foundation for continued investment in advanced technology solutions for our residential and business customers,” said Dave Wittwer, president and chief executive officer of TDS Telecom. “For 46 years, TDS has been providing the best technology, and we’re committed to continuous improvement.”
Customers will have noticed monthly bills co-branded with Baja Broadband and TDS, which will remain for a specified time period during the transition. Company vehicles, office signage and décor will also be revised to reflect the brand change.
“We believe we can always do better in the technology we deliver and the customer care we provide,” Wittwer said. “We believe our customers deserve the best of both.”
