CSU Vet Hospital Open House set for end of March

The annual Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Open House on March 30 and 31 offers educational opportunities for children and adults, interaction with animals large and small, and tours of the hospital, part of one of the top veterinary educational programs in the nation.

The event, at 300 West Drake Road in Fort Collins, will also feature a petting zoo with miniature horses as well as lectures and demonstrations on a wide range for topics.

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday evening, two workshops will address pet first aid and medical emergencies. Seating is limited and on a first come, first served basis; RSVP by contacting csuopenhouse12@gmail.com.

Then on Saturday morning, hospital tours will start at 9 a.m. and begin every 15 minutes. The last tour will start at 3 p.m. Large groups are encouraged to make a reservation by calling 970-297-1269.

Workshops throughout the day will cover exotic pets, equine first aid, a demonstration by the Fort Collins Police Canine Unit and a look at the latest technology available at the hospital.

All events are free and open to the public, and parking is free. Personal animals and pets are not allowed at the open house.
