ENTRY RULES:
- You must be an AMATEUR photographer - photography has never contributed significantly to your income.
- Photographs must be taken in Larimer County or Weld County, Colorado. If you have questions, please call 970-221-0213.
- Photographs must be taken during 2010.
- All ages may enter one photo in each of the three main categories. All photos must be submitted as prints. Color or grayscale prints are accepted. No photocopies.
- PEOPLE'S EXPRESSIONS: Catch one or more people of any age with a priceless expression. It could be happy, sad, angry, thoughtful, proud, loving, to name a few ideas.
- CREATIVE PERSPECTIVE: Any subject could fall into this category, but take extra effort to bring creativity to the angle, composition, lighting or subject matter.
- MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY: This is closeup (also called micro) photography. Any subject qualifies, but the image on a standard print should be life-size or larger. Focus on
the most important part of the subject.
- YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHERS ONLY: This category is open to photographers ages 18 and under. Any subject is allowed. This age group may also enter the categories above.
- For all categories, print quality, composition and exposure are important. Preference will not be given to larger photos. Photos do not need to be matted.
- Label the back of each submission with your name, address, phone number, approximate date of photo, location of photo, and category
you are entering. DO NOT write directly on your photograph.
- Photographers may pick up their entries at the North Forty News office after
March 1, 2011. Otherwise, they will not be returned.
- A panel of independent judges will choose the winners. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third places in each category.
