Fire survivors should contact County Clerk about mail-in ballots

The Larimer County Clerk will be sending out mail-in ballots for the Nov. 6 general election on Oct. 15. Anyone who has been displaced by the High Park or Woodland Heights fires this summer should contact the election staff as soon as possible to be sure to receive a ballot.

Records show more than 68 percent of all active registered voters in Larimer County have opted to receive mail-in ballots for every election, even when vote centers will be open. Mail-in ballots cannot be forwarded by the post office, so anyone receiving mail at an address other than the one on record with the Clerk & Recorder’s office should call 970-498-7820 as soon as possible.

County Clerk Scott Doyle said his staff is happy to make whatever arrangements fire survivors need to vote.

“They can give us their temporary mailing address, they can come in and pick up a ballot – whatever works for them,” he said. “But they have to give us a call and let us know they need assistance.”

The last day to register to vote in the November election is Oct. 9.
