Mountain Lions Club of Red Feather Lakes is seeking contributions in order to expand the Veterans Memorial in Red Feather Lakes Community Park. The Lions Club established the park in 2006 and that year the Hughes family agreed to installation of the monument in the park. The names of active, retired and deceased servicemen and woman are carved in granite in appreciation for their service to their country.
The monument slab was filled in 2013 and the Lions Club established a campaign to purchase and install two additional slabs and posts at an estimated cost of $10,000. With the support of the community, veterans, friends of Red Feather Lakes and anyone else wishing to provide support, the monument will continue to serve the area for many years to come.
Gifts may be sent to: Mountain Lions Club of Red Feather Lakes, P.O. Box 5, Red Feather Lakes, CO 80545, Attention Veterans Expansion Campaign. Info: Eunice Michalka, 970-690-5007 or email@example.com.
