North Forty News
On one Saturday evening about two months ago, I was minding my own business at a restaurant with my family. I happened to pick up a copy of the North Forty News. After settling down my two young boys (4 and 7), I started reading. Previous publisher Doug Canarroe had written a notice (on the front page) that he could no longer maintain the paper. He was looking for someone to take it over. My wife immediately saw the “journalist” stars in my eyes. She knew my crazy entrepreneurial spirit was about to collide with my twenty-five year journalism background. The rest is history (at least for the next month). As of June 3, 2017 I took ownership of the paper.
This is a very exciting time for the North Forty News and I. I see enormous potential for this organization. Our readers can expect the same great stories with unique perspectives, from the same great staff that has been bringing you its news for the past twenty-plus years. Our readers can also expect to read a community newspaper which takes pride in journalistic integrity and quality.
Keep an eye on our web site because that’s about to change. In the paper, we are limited by space. We have no limits on our web site. At NorthFortyNews.com the stories will have expanded content. The site will take on a new layout and it will be easier to read on your mobile device. it will feature well-produced video content.
Starting in June, the North Forty News established plans to expand its coverage and distribution beyond Northern Larimer County. It will feature news from communities fourty miles north of Denver to Wyoming. It will continue to service Red Feather Lakes and as far East as Sterling.
As a Colorado native, I am passionate about our community. I am proud to be the owner of a great community newspaper, and I can’t wait to bring Northern Colorado a quality, trusted source.
We can’t do any of it without our readers, advertisers and our subscribers. Please support the North Forty News by telling our advertisers that you have seen their advertising in the North Forty News AND subscribe via our web site.
Great things are happening!
