Charles “Chuck” McMican, age 86, passed away in his sleep on June 8, 2014, at Red Feather Lakes. Charles was born on July 9, 1927, to Clifton W. McMican and Ruth May McMican in Lola, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Willis McMican; two sisters, Mary Lou McMican and Kathryn “Jean” Stumpf. He is survived by nieces, Dawn M. Bellows, her husband, Charles, and their children and grandchildren of Panama City, Fla.; and Jennie E Gosche of Kinsington, Md.; nephew, Donald M Stumpf of Panama City; brother-in-law, Jim Stumpf of Panama City; and his significant other and loyal companion, June Krakel of Red Feather Lakes, her children and grandchildren.
He graduated from high school in Rosiclare, Ill., served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps during World War II and the Korean War as a physician’s assistant. He was a registered pharmacist and worked in several Front Range pharmacies until retirement. Chuck maintained membership in the local American Legion Post 4 and AMVETS Post 2298, in Panama City. He enjoyed fly fishing in the local area and was a dedicated caregiver.
