Warren Baker, M.D., died at his home near Red Feather Lakes on Aug. 18, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Wynne Dimock, and his two daughters, Cynthia and Nancy.
A psychiatrist and writer, he spent his childhood near New York City. He and Wynne met in Denver in 1970 and both were long time members of the psychoanalytic community and studied at the Colorado Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies in the 1990s. They shared a love of foreign travel, political activism and the Blues, which included attending many concerts all over the country.
Warren’s last years were intensely focused on writing as a member of the Red Feather Lakes Writers Group. His recent work included papers on psychoanalytic perspectives on sociopathy in contemporary culture and political processes.
Warren’s intellect, passionate views and ironic sense of humor remained with him. The week before his death, he chose to attend his writer’s group rather than an oncology appointment.
Both his life and death were “well done.” Farewell.
