Fort Collins Midtown in Motion community workshop scheduled for Jan. 30

The City of Fort Collins invites the community to the first drop-in workshop for the Midtown in Motion project 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Midtown Arts Center, 3750 South Mason St. in Fort Collins. The meeting is an opportunity for the community to share ideas on ways to transform College Avenue into a “World Class Street.” Or, participate and provide feedback virtually by taking a survey at www.fcgov/MidtowninMotion.

The City of Fort Collins is working in partnership with the Colorado Department of Transportation to develop an action plan to transform College Avenue between Prospect and Harmony Roads, including the frontage roads and connections to the new MAX stations.

“This workshop will allow the city to gather the public’s feedback to help transform College Avenue into a ‘world class’ street,” Fort Collins transportation planner and project manager Aaron Iverson said.

Midtown in Motion is the second phase of the Midtown Plan and was launched at the end of 2013. It is the implementation step stemming from the Transportation Master Plan. Outreach to businesses and users of College Avenue as well as the public will take place throughout the process to obtain feedback.
