The names have been changed, but Larimer County author's murder-mayhem novel has a familiar setting

The name has been changed to protect the innocent, but the word is out. The setting of Dana Leigh’s debut paranormal thriller, Covina, The Arrowhead Chronicles will be familiar to anyone who knows Wellington.

Leigh, who has lived in Greeley, Wellington and Pierce, graduated from Highland High School in Ault. She treads on familiar territory in her fast-paced book published by Brighton Publishing and available in many outlets including Barnes & Noble bookstores.

Leigh is a Stephen King fan and has been interested in the paranormal for a long time. It was a middle school teacher who encouraged her early interest in writing. These days she’s hard at work on the second book in the series, Blood Assassins, which will continue to follow the lives of police chief Delaney McClellan and her cohort and soul mate Aaron Rockway as they address ever-present evil in the world.

The author’s work as a corrections officer when she lived in East Texas gave her the background she needed to get inside the lives of police officers. The book is action-packed from the opening moments when we get to know the world of the small town woman police chief and escalates as she learns a startling secret about herself and is forced into some hazardous and frightening situations.

After a time away from Colorado in Texas, Leigh returned to Colorado in 2015 to be closer to her large extended family. She now lives in Fort Collins with her daughter, who attends Poudre High School. Leigh is employed full-time at Interweave Press She writes during evenings and on weekends. “I carry a little notebook with me all the time to jot down ideas, she says.

She writes a blog for Interweave Press and has also been a guest blogger for Writers Digest Magazine. She plans a book signing at Firehouse Books in Fort Collins in the near future.
