The 2018 Young Entrepreneur Tournament in Fort Collins, Colorado, hosted by the Larimer County Workforce Center, is now registering participants for the 2018 tournament. Students under 18 are invited to participate in order to learn how to start and run a business.
This year’s theme is Impact Entrepreneurship, with a focus on social, economic and environmental needs. The challenge is to create a business that improves quality of life. Participants may chose for-profit, non-profit or a co-op structure with which to build their business.
The Pre-Tournament Information and Idea Session Workshop will be held on March 5, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the First Floor Hearing Room in the Larimer County Offices Building, 200 West Oak St. (There will be pizza).
The Tournament Dates are April April 7, 2018 to May 5, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Participants will spend 20 hours over four consecutive Saturdays to develop their project. They will then pitch their business plans to a panel of business owners. In 2017, winners received $2,200.00 in prize money to use as investment capital.
Seats for the 2018 Young Entrepreneur Tournament are limited to 30 competitors.
