KRFC holds its ninth annual Birthday Bash at the newly renovated Lincoln Center on Saturday, March 10.
The community-supported station’s ninth year of volunteer-powered radio has seen major growth for the organization on the heels of introducing a new daytime mix format, new website, and many more locally focused segments.
Returning to headline the Bash is musician and actor Ben Taylor. Although Taylor’s musical talents deserve their own acclaim, fans from all generations who love the music of his well-known parents, Carly Simon and James Taylor, will pick up on the family roots.
The Bash lineup also includes Fierce Bad Rabbit, Danielle Ate the Sandwich, Denver-area favorites John Common and Blinding Flashes of Light, and Martin Gilmore.
Perhaps the most heart-warming name on the bill is that of 10½-year-old Jaden Carlson – already a veteran performer having shared the stage with the likes of Michael Franti and Spearhead, and Matt Butler and The Everyone Orchestra.
KRFC Executive Director Brian Hughes explained that this year’s Bash, a major fundraiser for the station, wouldn’t be possible without the support of the community and partners like the Lincoln Center.
“We’re encountering an increasingly sophisticated music-loving community and they’re relying on KRFC to create a sense of place by providing the soundtrack for Northern Colorado,” Hughes said.
Tickets are available through the Lincoln Center box office at lctix.com.
