The Sustainable Living Association presents Joel Salatin, humorous American farmer, conviction-based lecturer, and famous author. In October, the SLA’s annual Sustainable Living Fair was flooded out with torrential rains; this event is scheduled to be in a drier venue at the Lincoln Center Performance Hall on Saturday, November 9, at 4p.m. Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms will discuss how far removed we are from the simple, sustainable joy that comes from living close to the land and the people we love. Salatin’s farm has been featured in the documentary Food, Inc. and Michael Pollan’s book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma. His unconventional farming practices have drawn attention form the alternative agriculture community, especially those interested in sustainable livestock management. The cost of the lecture is $15, tickets are on sale at the Lincoln Center box office at LCtix.com. For more info, go to sustainablelivingassociation.org.
