The Soaring Eagle Ecology Center will use a $1,924 grant from the Larimer County Natural Resources Department’s Open Lands Program to install environmental learning stations near Red Feather Lakes Elementary School.
The grant comes from the county Small Grants for Community Partnering program, which each year sends $20,000 in county open space tax money to projects that help connect people to the land. Since 1998, 134 community projects have shared $171,000. The grants are no larger than $2,000. This year, 12 grants totaling $19,890 were awarded. They will be officially presented March 28 at the Open Lands Advisory Board meeting in Loveland.
