“This is a lovely and unexpected honor. CPAC is an organization that I admire and support whole-heartedly. Hal Gould was a mentor and a friend and is greatly missed. To receive an award in his name from such a beloved organization is humbling. My thanks go to the ever-inspirational Samantha Johnston, Keith Brenner and the rest of the nominating committee.”
The Hal Gould Vision in Photography Award was established in 2013 in honor of Hal Gould, a well-known champion of photography in the Western region who inspired countless artists and visitors to his legendary Camera Obscura Gallery in Denver. He was also a gifted artist himself, a commercial photographer, and a co-founder of CPAC.
