Obituary: Buzz Folley

Buzz Folley, age 73, died April 12, 2015, at his home in Fort Collins.

William “Buzz” Frank Folley was born Oct. 20, 1941, to Harry and Christine Folley, in Flomot, Texas. He lived in Texas until coming to northern Colorado in 1964.

Buzz worked in the oil fields and construction prior to opening Performance Welding in 1974. He owned and operated Performance Welding in Fort Collins for 22 years. Upon selling the welding shop in 1998, Buzz retired. In retirement, he started farming and ranching north of Wellington. Buzz enjoyed running a cow/calf operation and running ropings in the family arena. Buzz found great joy in supporting youth rodeo in the Folley arena. Buzz loved rodeos in general and enjoyed participating in team roping as a header.

In the last few years, Buzz enjoyed the quiet life on the farm until he moved to Fort Collins, where he quickly became the life of Collinwood Assisted Living and made many friends. While there, he enjoyed playing poker, bingo and socializing.

Buzz is survived by his companion, Carol Arnold; two sons, Eric, and his wife, Tamie, of Timnath, and Tom, and his wife, Stacy, of Greeley; two nieces Denese Skinner of Texas and Terese Skinner of New York.

He is preceded in death by, his wife, Judy McDonough Folley; his mother, Christine Folley; his father Harry Folley; his step-mother Ruby Folley; and his sister Jackie Skinner.

A visitation and funeral service were held on April 17 at River of Life Fellowship Church in Wellington. Interment followed the service at Highland Cemetery, Wellington.
