Obituary: Robert Anthony Seefried

Robert Anthony Seefried, 68, of Carr passed away Sept. 13, 2014, at Hospice of Northern Colorado in North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He had suffered a stroke.

Robert, called Bob by most, was born June 20, 1946 in Buffalo, N.Y., to Carl George Seefried and Doris T Harmon. Bob was the second of five children who grew up together in East Amherst, N.Y. Bob attended high school in Williamsville, N.Y., where he excelled in athletics. After graduating he attended Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., on an athletic scholarship. Then, Bob went on to law school at University of Minnesota.

Bob practiced law for a short time in Chicago then moved on to practice in Washington, D.C. Bob was attracted to Colorado from vacationing here. In the late 1980s, Bob moved to Boulder and set up a law practice. In addition to law, Bob was certified as a Colorado Master Gardener and had a landscape and design company as his most beloved profession.

Bob was obsessed with the game of golf, continuously practicing to improve his game. He was also an avid follower of college basketball. He was a died-in-the-wool University of Colorado Buffs fan from the 1980s until 2014, when he surprised his wife by announcing that he was now officially a Colorado State University Rams fan!

Bob is survived by his wife and best friend Linda Hardeman, his daughter Terri Seefried of Boulder and stepson Michael Robinson, and his wife Casey, of Fort Collins. He also is survived by his brothers, Carl, Paul and William. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister Delores.

Bob insisted there be no services marking his passing. Information handled by Goes Funeral Care, Fort Collins. goesfuneralcare.com. However, his family will hold a Happy Hour 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Eaton Country Club in Eaton. Cash bar and hors d’oeuvres.
