September 11, 2011 marks the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and flight 93 that crashed near Shanksville, Penn.
To commemorate this anniversary the Poudre Fire Authority along with Fort Collins Police Services, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, Loveland Fire and Rescue Department, Poudre Valley Hospital Ambulance Services, Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue and others will gather on 9/11/2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Civic Center Park, 225 LaPorte Ave. in Fort Collins.
The event is free and open to the public.
The event will include Honor Guards, laying of a wreath, aircraft fly-over with at least five helicopters, speeches by local emergency services personnel, 21-gun salute and more.
For ease of parking vehicles we urge the public to please utilize the city parking garage at the corner of LaPorte Ave. and Mason St. Stands for bicyclists will be provided at the park. Parking for emergency services personnel will be on surface streets surrounding the park.

6 p.m. Opening ceremony, honor guard presentation of colors,
wreath-laying by Ground Zero personnel, national anthem/aircraft fly-over
6:15 Invocation
6:20 Dignitary speeches – fire chiefs, police chief, sheriff, PVH Emergency Services,
Red Cross
6:55 Roll-call of Larimer County First Responders who responded to Ground Zero, Pentagon or Shanksville
7 p.m. Retire flag from ladder truck
7:10 Present flags to families of 9/11 victims
7:20 Song – written and performed by Capt. Tim Champlin of Poudre Fire Authority
7:25 Benediction
7:30 21-gun salute

I was one of the pilots who flew over the ceremony on Sunday. What an honor it was to be part of the tenth anniversary.It was pretty intense as we flew over the roof top and saw that giant AMERICAN FLAG.
