The US Postal Service has relocated all Bellvue operations to the LaPorte Post Office for the duration of the High Park Fire.
USPS spokesman David Rupert said all mail destined for addresses in zip code 80512 will be available for pickup at the LaPorte Post Office, 2724 N. Overland Trail, south of the intersection with County Road 54G. He said about 400 post office boxes and 1,200 street addresses are affected.
“We ask Bellvue people to wait until afternoon — after 2 p.m. — to stop by to pick up their mail,” Rupert said. “We’ll be sorting and sending out the mail for LaPorte in the morning, then getting to the Bellvue mail in stages. There’s not enough room or equipment in LaPorte to do it sooner.”
Because of road closures, mail has not been delivered this week to 650 Fort Collins addresses in the 85026 zip code west of the Horsetooth Dam Road off of W. County Road 38E. Residents can pick up their mail at the Fort Collins Main Post Office at 301 Boardwalk. Any mail not picked up will be delivered when roads are reopened and clearance is given by emergency personnel.
“We know people have other things on their minds right now,” Rupert added. “You can trust us to keep your mail safe until things get back to normal.”
