Broadway actor brings one-man show to Fort Collins

The one-man play “Mercy Killers” will be presented in Fort Collins on March 13, 7 p.m., at Bas Bleu Theatre. The play examines how the U.S. healthcare crisis affects ordinary families in America. Sponsor of the show is Health Care for All Colorado, an organization that has been advocating for single-payer health care for more than a decade.

Broadway actor Michael Milligan portrays the character Joe, a working-class man who loves apple pie, Rush Limbaugh and the Fourth of July. But when his wife is diagnosed with cancer and loses her insurance, his patriotic feelings are brought into question.

“Mercy Killers” has toured Ohio, Pennsylvania, California and Minnesota, including a showing for the Minnesota State Legislature. The Colorado tour includes 12 communities. The play has received rave reviews from many organizations and publications and recently completed a successful off-Broadway run in New York.

Seating is limited. For tickets, contact Bonnie Inscho, 970-420-0049 or [email protected]. Ticket price: Suggested donation of $10. For more information about the play, go to www.HealthCareForAllColorado.org.
