The Colorado Department of Transportation has selected 19 northeastern Colorado projects to receive matching funds from the federal Transportation Alternatives Program, including $193,942 for completing the Boxelder Interstate 25 underpass in Wellington.
“TAP project applications in Northeast Colorado embraced new partnerships for innovative projects,” said Johnny Olson, CDOT regional transportation director for Northeast Colorado. “All of these investments will benefit the transportation system locally and regionally.”
In October, a call for applications was issued by the region for approximately $7.4 million for 2015-2017. The response was overwhelming. Agencies submitted 58 applications requesting $40 million for three years.
Each project had to have at least a 20 percent local match. Projects must be completed by 2018.
