The City of Fort Collins has canceled the Fourth of July fireworks display. After careful consideration and discussions with the Poudre Fire Authority, staff and Council, City Manager Darin Atteberry has decided to cancel the fireworks display scheduled for the evening of July 4th at City Park.
Atteberry made the decision official today: “The City wanted to avoid prematurely canceling this long standing community tradition, but with the extreme nature of fires currently burning across our state in addition to a 10-day forecast with no expected reprieve, we believe this to be the most prudent course of action.”
The City of Fort Collins will continue all other 4th of July and City Park 100 celebrations located at City Park, 1500 W. Mulberry Street. The Independence Day and City Park 100 community celebration will continue to feature a parade, live music and food vendors. Please visit fcgov.com/july4th for updated information.
