The Upper Poudre Canyon Craft Fair and Quilt Show will be held at the new fire station and community center this year. The event is set for Aug. 13, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will feature many local crafters and their wood carvings, leather crafts, jewelry, glass work, handmade clothing, paintings and more.
The canyon quilters have created a new quilt named “Nature’s Spectacle” for this year’s raffle. Raffle tickets will be sold at the show and can be purchased ahead at Bighorn Cabins, Archer’s Poudre River Resort or by calling Janet at 970-881-2465.
Raffle tickets are $1 each, six for $5 and 13 for $10. Also for sale this year are the Poudre Canyon Cookbook and the updated Poudre Canyon Directory.
The long-awaited opening of the historic Eggers School House Museum will coincide with the craft fair. The one-room schoolhouse was built in 1933 and operated as a school until 1959, except for a few years in the 1940s. It was moved to its current location in the early 1960s. The museum will be open a few days this summer and will eventually be home to the Upper Poudre Canyon Library.
There will be plenty of food available at the craft fair, including an all-day bake sale and food from the grill at lunchtime.
The new firehouse is located at mile marker 88.5 on State Highway 14. For more info, call Jackie at 970-881-2466.
