This is the musical project led by longtime Portland, OR musician Matt Cadenelli. Weaving together musical styles from Wilco to Nick Lowe to The Kinks to Neil Young, the Don of Division Street is melodious and insightful. Its second album, L’AMOURITA features 10 feel-good alt-Americana tunes that would be perfect for a road trip or a movie soundtrack. “Move Me,” is a stirring tune that you might want to sing to that one in your life who doesn’t walk the talk – Yeah, you move me but I don’t feel it…I see all this moving but I don’t care what you said. “Dreaming” is a contemplative song – The more I know, the less I run from now. “Song for Dylan” is a catchy, cute tribute to a dog. You were the dog of my dreams/Now my heart’s busted at the seams/I’m gonna hold on to you with peace in my heart my friend. L’AMOURITA is easy listening, and not like elevator music. It’s like food for your soul. The Don performs live in Fort Collins on Oct. 5 at Hodi’s Half Note as part of the Spokebuzz Band Swap.
