This January 21, the CSU and Fort Collins community will be gathering together to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with several events under the theme of “Faces of Freedom: Past, Present and Future”. The route of the traditional one-mile community march, which begins at 1 p.m. this year to accommodate the Presidential Inauguration, will start in Old Town Square and participants are encouraged to sing as they march. Following the march, a celebration will commence at 1:45p.m. in the Lory Student Center Main Ballroom. During the celebration, this year’s poetry and essay winners from Poudre School District will read their winning works. Following the celebration, the Volunteer Fair will be held in the Lory Student Center Food Court. Several local agencies will be on hand to offer opportunities to get involved in the community and bring King’s dream to reality. For a full schedule visit mlkfortcollins.org
