I hope we all have a fun and safe Independence Day and that we take the time to appreciate the rights and privileges as Americans we enjoy. Wellington is the perfect place to enjoy a 4th of July celebration. Our small town with all its events is great for having friends, family and neighbors over to enjoy the day.

“Fizz, Boom, Read,” our summer reading program is going amazingly. If you have not signed up you still have time. The first prize giveaway is June 30.
What if a space alien crash-landed at our library? What if she started juggling planets and collecting specimens to take back to Mars? Finally what if you saw her live bunny rabbit magically beam down into a see-through teleportation cube? What if you came to the library to see all these things with your own eyes?
Our next event is Ann Lincoln’s “The Space Alien’s Big Bang Magic Show and Juggling Show.” Ann Lincoln is great entertainment for the whole family. Please join us on July 1 at 10:30 a.m. for this very funny show.
When you are out enjoying the great outdoors with your friends has one of them ever asked you, “Hey, what kind of bird is that?” Bring your binoculars and join Bill West for an introductory class in ornithology (the study of birds) on July 9 at 10 a.m. here at the library. You will be able to amaze your friends with your new found knowledge.
On July 15 at 10 a.m. The Bubble Lady will be bringing her world of fascinating bubbles to us. Come join in fun of learning how bubbles are formed and made. The Bubble Lady will encase you inside your very own bubble. It’s good clean fun!
Come back the very next day, July 16, to enjoy ice cream at The Wellington Library Friends Ice Cream Social from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The ice cream is free when you show us your Wellington Public Library card.
Our second prize giveaway for the summer reading program is July 28. And as if that isn’t enough to keep you busy, on July 29 at 10:30 a.m., author Gary Raham presents “Walking Ancient Seashores.” Come see amazing fossils, original artwork and enjoy readings to transport you back to seaside Colorado. After the trip you will receive a souvenir from the distant past!
Our preschool storytimes are July 8 and July 22 at 11 a.m. Come enjoy stories and crafts.
