Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post columnist George F. Will is scheduled to speak at Colorado State University at 7 p.m. Jan. 31 at Moby Arena. His lecture, “The Political Argument Today,” will be followed by a moderated question-and-answer session.
Will’s lecture, part of the Monfort Lecture Series at CSU, marks the 10th anniversary of the Monfort Excellence Fund, supported by the Monfort Family Foundation.
In 1977, Will won a Pulitzer Prize for commentary in his newspaper columns, which have been syndicated by The Washington Post since 1974. Will published “Men At Work: The Craft of Baseball” in 1990, which topped The New York Times best-seller list for two months, and he was a member of Major League Baseball’s Blue Ribbon Panel, examining baseball economics.
He also became a founding panel member on ABC television’s “This Week” in 1981.
The Monfort Lecture Series at CSU has featured such prominent speakers as Madeleine Albright, first female U.S. Secretary of State; Condoleezza Rice, 66th Secretary of State; United Nations Messenger of Peace Jane Goodall, DBE; former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev; Nobel Laureate Desmond Tutu; and Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf.
