Pre-evacuation notifications have been sent to parts of Glacier View for the area south of County Road 74E, south and east of McNay Hill, ahead of the High Park Fire. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Department says this is not an evacuation, simply a pre-alert to those living on Hewlett Gulch Road, Deer Meadow Way, Gordon Creek Lane and connecting roadways in that area. Residents should be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice.
At 9 a.m., the fire was reported to have grown to 43,433 acres — 67 square miles — with no containment. The number of personnel on scene battling the blaze has grown to 500.
