Patrons of popular dive bar The Vault may be somewhat disappointed as of late, as their favorite hangout has changed owners and has been completely revamped. Located at 146 N. College Ave. (the former location of The Vault), The Astoria Bar is owned by Peter Munro and Lindsey Anderson. Munro told Scene about some of the changes. “We remodeled the bar completely, but kept the historic features intact. We’re going for a different kind of vibe. We’re a different bar than anywhere else in town because we’re an oasis of calm.” The Astoria will not have live bands, Munro explained, because they want to create a consistent atmosphere for their customers. They plan to open a kitchen and serve Cuban food in the near future. Find more information at facebook.com/astoriabar, or, better yet, go see the changes for yourself!
