Grant Farm – the Almanac

Grant-Farm
4.5 out of 5
If you’re looking for an energizing, backyard dance, feel good album—Grant Farm’s Almanac is the perfect combination of American roots country, rock guitar and simple lyrics for all listeners. The band, a four-piece group is made up of former members of the Emmitt/Nershi Band and Leftover Salmon. They have performed with The String Cheese Incident, Yonder Mountain String Band, Head for the Hills, Keller Williams and more. With songs like “The Times Have” that feature strong guitar and story-telling lyrics, this easy listening song juxtaposes full, more folk-sounding tracks like “I Come From The.” Then, the album switches to fun, jam tunes such as “Funky Boulder” with a fast tempo and slows down with “The Way It Out To,” a 10 minute lyrical and tempo driven folk song. All of the Almanac’s songs are four minutes or more, with sharp musical integrity, coming from this truly talented music group. With blues influences, tunes of folk and rock and funk sounds, this album is enjoyable for a wide audience. Anyone who is a music lover will appreciate Grant Farm’s Almanac for the strong musical skill and the variety of sounds and songs.
