Colorado Department of Transportation Commissioner and former Loveland Mayor Kathy Gilliland announced her candidacy for Larimer County District 1 Commissioner, representing the northern third of Larimer County.
“I am running for Larimer County Commissioner because I believe Larimer County is lacking in momentum to address our needs and deserves forward-thinking leadership that is progressive, inclusive and visionary,” Gilliland said.
“I believe that the challenges facing our county are complex and call for thoughtful planning and response from the government. Whether it is responding to floods and fires, supporting economic vitality, or preserving our natural environment and agricultural lands in light of a growing population, we need principled leaders who bring a new vision of government that actively works for the success for all our residents. I will bring experienced leadership, along with my commitment and passion, for a stronger Larimer County as Commissioner of District 1”
In addition to her work with CDOT and Loveland, Gilliland has 30 years of professional business experience with Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies and is currently Owner and CEO of DK Innovative Solutions and the Diamond Valley Alpaca Ranch.
Gilliland has lived in Larimer County 36 years with her husband Dale. They have two daughters and five grandchildren. Kathy and Dale make their home on their alpaca ranch in Livermore.
