Incumbent Larimer County Clerk and Recorder Angela Myers on Oct. 4 said she will run for the office again in the November 2014 election.
Myers was appointed clerk and recorder in May 2013 by the county commissioners. She had worked in the clerk’s office for nearly 10 years. Prior to becoming clerk, Myers was business operations coordinator, responsible for preparation and administration of the office’s $6 million plus budget, handling personnel matters and handling issues that crossed departmental boundaries within the office.
“This is a very complex county office,” Myers said. “My experience and understanding of those complexities is critically important. I am honored that the board of county commissioners recognized the importance of this experience when they chose me to fill the vacated role. Quite frankly, the transition into this role has been a very natural one, and I am enjoying it tremendously.”
The county clerk and recorder is elected at large in each county and is responsible for administering federal and state law. Colorado’s county clerks are responsible for administration of elections, being the county recorder responsible for timely and accurate recording of various legal documents into perpetuity, and overseeing the operation of all motor vehicle registration and licensing activities within their respective counties.
Myers can be reached at [email protected].
