Letter: Mayor-elect thanks supporters, offers reminder to stay involved

Citizens of Wellington:

I would like to thank all that came out and supported me for the mayor race. The turnout was tremendous, and I believe we have some folks excited to see a park get built!

I would also like to congratulate the other successful trustee winners: Ashley Macdonald, Tim Singewald, Matt Michel and Travis Harless. The number of people running for all the positions was great to see, and the number of people wanting to be involved as our Town grows has been amazing.

I would like to encourage everyone to stay involved, come to Town meetings and offer input. The new board members will have a full plate as we move forward, and we will still have committees needing help to get our projects off the ground.

With the park ballot passing, we can get that project back on track and hopefully be breaking ground very soon. The Main Street project will be the next focus, and I will be reaching out to folks looking for help and suggestions as we look at ways to lessen the storm drainage issues facing the downtown, along with ways to improve the parking and appearances along Main Street.

We have a very devoted group, and I look forward to working with everybody over the next four years.
