Thousands of strands of holiday lights will illuminate historic Downtown Fort Collins as they “flip the switch” at the annual Downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony. This year’s lighting effort is committed to being green. LED light strands are used exclusively in this year’s display, which will be in place from November 2 – February 14. LED light strands lead to power savings of about 90% over standard lights. The ceremony will be held at Oak Street Plaza. The evening begins at 6:30pm with music, cookies, and hot cocoa and cider. Then at 7:00pm we will “throw the switch” to turn on all lights in downtown. People can enjoy the holiday lights from anywhere along College Ave. beginning at Laporte and continuing to Magnolia St.
