The Main Street Project of Wellington is hosting a development concept seminar on April 18 at the First National Bank at 4100 Harrison Avenue in Wellington.
The seminar will explore the concept of a Downtown Development Authority (DDA) for Wellington as a mechanism to assist and plan for the anticipated rapid growth of Wellington over the next 5 to 10 years.
Following a free evening buffet at 5:30 p.m., attendees of the seminar will hear from several experts on DDA’s. Brad March, a partner at March, Olive, and Pharris, will discuss the legal structure of a Colorado DDA’s starting at 6 p.m.
Attendees will also hear from Mark Williams, a former executive director of the Castle Rock DDA, and from Ronald Mitchell, a DDA founder and board member in Nederland.
At 7 p.m. there will be time for questions, comments and a discussion about the feasibility of a DDA in Wellington.
