This album is a majority of covers from old jazz singers, however Mandy Harvey brings her own flair
to these classic songs. Harvey’s voice is smooth and comforting to listen to. I could listen to her sing
all day long. The original songs on the album are just as good as the covers. “Envy” is sexy from the
start; the little changes in tone in her voice give the song a little Buddy Holly vibe, like the Buddy
Holly of jazz. Her voice is so powerful; it takes hold of your heart and doesn’t let go. The other
original songs on the album are not as jazzy as “Envy” but they are still good. These songs err on the
more singer-songwriter side. It may be the floral pattern on the cover, but these songs give you the
feeling you are lying in a field of flowers in spring. This album overall is an amazing take on some
great songs with her own amazing work peppered in, living in perfect harmony.
