A no-cost Meet the Women In Politics forum, designed to shine a light on the women in Larimer County who are working to improve systems of governing, debuts April 25.
The forum is sponsored by Women Awaken and takes place April 25 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Council Tree Library, 2733 Council Tree Ave. in Fort Collins. The forum includes a panel discussion and informal mingle with candidates for office, current state representatives, school board members, CU & CSU governance representatives, the mayor of Fort Collins, League of Women Voters and Emerge Colorado.
In the 136 years since its statehood, Colorado has not elected a woman to the U.S. Senate, nor has it elected a woman as governor of Colorado or as mayor of Denver. Women Awaken hopes to change those statistics and create a better and more balanced future.
