4 stars out of 5
I reviewed his first full-length album last month and I was so excited when we got his new EP in. This new EP is more on the side of country pop rock rather than more folk sounding. Honey Rider is a fitting name for this EP because his voice is like honey. The first song “I’m Your Man,” captures the small town mentality of Fort Collins. There is definitely a country twang in this song. It sounds like how summers spent with your friends going to New Belgium and enjoying life feels like. “Swing Baby, Swing” is the stand out track for me. The song is more of an acoustic song that errs on the pop country side. You get the image of laying in the grass on a sunny day in the middle of the countryside when listening to it. It is a perfect ending to this five song EP; I can’t wait for the next full-length album.
