Two new evacuation orders were issued Sunday evening for homes in the path of the High Park Fire.
At 5:30 p.m., the Larimer County Sheriff’s Department sent 24 notifications for residents in the Crystal Mountain area including Crystal Mountain Road and Upper Buckhorn Road. The burning pattern of the fire could potentially cut off exit routes for this area and residents should leave while the roads are still passable.
At 4:45 p.m., 326 emergency notifications were sent to homes in the area north of Larimer County Road 38E, from Horsetooth Reservoir to Redstone Canyon to Lory State Park.
An evacuation shelter has been set up at Cache La Poudre Middle School in LaPorte. Large animals and livestock can be taken to The Ranch at I-25 and Crossroads Boulevard — the sheriff’s department says there is still room there — and small domestic animals can be taken to the Larimer County Humane Society. Anyone with horse trailers that can be used in the evacuations should contact the Humane Society at 970-226-3647 ext. 7.
More information on evacuations can be found at larimer.org/emergency/emergency_detail.cfm?nam_id=85 or by calling the Larimer County Emergency Information Line at 970-498-5500.
