Due to the lapse in federal government funding, National Public Lands Day on the Canyon Lakes Ranger District, planned for Oct. 5, is cancelled.
A considerable amount of work has already been done to make this event a success and the Canyon Lakes Ranger District thanks all of our volunteers and partners who have supported this event.
Many partners have helped, including Colorado State University, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, American Land and Leisure, Poudre Wilderness Volunteers, ARP Foundation, Clinton Family Fund, and Overland Mountain Bike Club. Other organizations who have contributed are Fort Collins Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep, Rodelle Inc., Walmart and Coopersmith’s Pub & Brewing.
Originally the event was planned for Sept. 28, but was postponed due to the recent flooding. The plan was to plant native shrubs and more than 1,000 pine trees in the Bellaire Lake Campground.
