Rice Elementary math teacher nominated for award

Rice Elementary School first-grade math teacher Amanda Benedict in has been nominated for a National Life Group LifeChanger of the Year award for 2014-15. The program recognizes and rewards K-12 education professionals and school district employees across the country. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners at a ceremony in April.

“Ms. Benedict was born to teach. She transforms students into thinkers and problem-solvers who are self-reliant and excited about encountering something difficult and overcoming it,” nominator Carly Raasch said. “She is an inspiration to all who interact with her and she gives herself fully to her work every day.
