On the afternoon of July 3, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a crash in the 8300 block of 3rd Street in Wellington where a vehicle struck two parked cars, one of which was occupied by two children.
The driver of a grey Chevrolet Tahoe received medical treatment at a local hospital. Upon her release the driver, Tanicia Carter, 36, was arrested and booked on charges of Driving Under the Influence of Drugs (unclassified misdemeanor) and Careless Driving (class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense). Carter was released from the Larimer County Jail at 10:16 p.m. after a bond was posted for her.
At 10:41 p.m. on the same day, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a report of a disturbance involving a baseball bat in the 4000 block of Garfield Avenue in Wellington. Upon arrival, deputies found a 40-year-old male and his 34-year-old wife had been assaulted by three persons who unlawfully entered the residence they were staying in. The male was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The female victim was the owner of the Tahoe that had been involved in the crash earlier in the day.
The investigation led to the arrest of three individuals and a search warrant being executed in the 3700 block of Franklin Avenue in Wellington.
Tanicia Carter was booked on charges of First Degree Burglary (class 3 felony), Theft (class 3 misdemeanor), 2 counts of Third Degree Assault (class 1 misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief (class 3 misdemeanor) and Violation of Bail Bond Conditions (class 3 misdemeanor).
Therion Carter, 30, was booked on charges of First Degree Burglary (class 3 felony) and Second Degree Assault (class 4 felony).
Lakaiya Saunders, 29, was booked on charges of First Degree Burglary (class 3 felony), Second Degree Assault (class 4 felony) and Theft (class 1 petty offense).
