Intro to Small Wind Power
March 10, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sustainable Living Association offices, 415 Mason Court in Fort Collins

This 8-hour seminar covers the basics of wind energy for the homeowner who is considering installing a residential or business-scale wind turbine. All the fundamentals are covered, including basic wind power theory and math, site evaluation, turbine siting, tower types and height, investment payback, wind turbine designs that do and don’t work, and avoiding wind turbine investment scams. Class details: $90 per person/12 people max. Intro to Off Grid Systems 
March 11, 9 a m to 5 p.m. Sustainable Living Association offices, 415 Mason Court in Fort Collins  

This 8-hour class covers the fundamentals of off-grid renewable energy system design for those who are considering moving off the grid, or want a more thorough knowledge of the system they already have. System sizing and siting, photovolaic arrays, wind turbines, battery banks, backup generators, wiring, safety disconnects and more will be covered. There will also be some discussion about the costs and economics of off-grid systems. $40 per person/ 20 people max. Info: 970-224-3247.
