Two more flood-damaged areas reopen on Canyon Lakes Ranger District

Two additional areas of the Canyon Lakes Ranger District impacted by the September 2013 Flood have re-opened as repairs have been completed – Sevenmile Road (#225) and Miller Fork Trail.

Sevenmile, a popular four-wheel-drive road, is located south of Red Feather Lakes. The Miller Fork Trail is located northwest of Glen Haven and connects with the recently reopened Bulwark Trail.

The Forest continues to focus on many flood recovery efforts; however, additional rains this summer have delayed some repair work. Crews are actively working on additional road and trail repairs. As these repairs are completed more areas could open before the field season is halted by snow. The next likely road to open is Moody Hill (#132), with crews checking it today to potentially open it for the weekend.

For additional information about flood closures and recovery efforts, check our website at www.fs.usda.gov/goto/arp/flood2013.

Remember, your safety is your responsibility. If you encounter an unsafe situation on a road or trail that is open, please stop and turn around. Emergency response access is limited. Be prepared with emergency supplies.
