United Way of Larimer County announced Oct. 24 that it is seeking letters of intent from local nonprofit organizations that serve residents of Larimer County.
Letters of intent are the first step in the funding process. Area nonprofit programs must complete a letter of intent form to be considered for funding. Letters of intent will be reviewed by community volunteers and those volunteers will select which programs qualify to submit a full proposal for funding.
“United Way places a great deal of confidence in the ability of our nonprofit community partners. Our partners are the folks on the front lines providing services and strategies that will ensure basic needs are met as well as helping us create and enhance long-term strategies to reduce poverty in Larimer County by 50 percent by 2025,” said Darcy McClure, vice president of Community Investment for United Way of Larimer County.
United Way of Larimer County’s next funding contracts will last for three years. They will start July 1, 2012 and end June 30, 2015. There are specific criteria that must be met in order for nonprofit programs to be considered for funding.
“Specifically, we will invest in strategies that meet basic needs (health), create financial stability (income), and help children succeed (education),” said McClure.
To help programs with the process, United Way of Larimer County is holding a Letter of Intent workshop Monday, October 31, 3:30 – 5 p.m.
The workshop will be held at the Fort Collins Police Services Building located at 2221 Timberline Road in Fort Collins.
Agencies are strongly encouraged to attend.
Nonprofit services and programs interested in submitting a letter of intent can review the necessary information and get instructions by going to www.uwaylc.org. Letters of intent are due to United Way by December 1 at 5 p.m.
For more information about the workshops and the process, agencies and programs can contact Darcy McClure, vice president of Community Investment, at [email protected] or 407-7090.
