The Poudre River breached its banks last night and is flowing thru the fields. The softball and football fields are literally lakes. The Middle School building is unaffected, but the southwest corner of the elementary building has some water on the floors.
We are fortunate to be part of a district where facility services and custodial staff responded proactively. They have been here all night assessing the situation at the Middle School along with sandbagging and moving classroom items in the Elementary. This morning ServePro arrived to begin wet-vacuuming water attempting to stay ahead of it.
CLPM and CLPE administration have been working together on a plan for moving the affected classrooms to other available rooms at both schools. Once we know about access and whether or not we can have school Tuesday, we will further communicate.
You are welcome to come see the exterior flooding, but for the sake of your safety, please stay away from flooded areas and provide workers the space to do their jobs. We want everyone to be safe!
We are pirates on this ship together. We have survived fire and now flood, and we will work through this because we are a strong and caring community.
Sincerely,
Alicia Bono
Principal, CLP Middle
