By this point in time, the Northern Colorado music scene should be well-acquainted with Winchester Holiday. Their seemingly non-stop touring throughout the region, close relationships with local organizations such as SpokesBuzz and participation in events such as the Colorado Music Party, have without a doubt put their name on the radar. Winchester Holiday’s latest release, a self-titled, five-song EP, will certainly add to the resume. The release provides an excellent reflection of the band’s extensive range of sound within the lighter side of indie rock. Focusing largely upon vocally-driven harmonies throughout the EP, instrumental breaks and rhythmic variations are showcased to emphasize each song. The highlight comes in “Cowboys,” a piano-layered, nostalgic adventure that crescendos amidst the frequent choruses of ‘We were young.’ Winchester Holiday’s latest EP only solidifies their place in the heart of Northern Colorado. Pick up a copy and support the band as they prepare for SXSW this month!
