Carol Jean (Carr) Komer of 2817 W. County Road 54G in Fort Collins was born on Halloween 1950 and went to live with the Lord on Friday, May 8, 2015, at age 64.
Raised in Agency, Mo., Carol moved to Colorado with her family in 1988. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family with all she had. As a devout Catholic woman, she served God faithfully through acts of kindness and generosity. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed eating out, playing cards and sitting around the campfire at their pond. She enjoyed everything most when it was shared with family and many friends.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of the Medical Center of the Rockies for their loving care and support of Carol, Gene, and their families.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Dr. Gene Komer; daughter, Jennifer (Eric) Larson of West Union, Iowa; and stepdaughter, Tobey (Mike) Carrel of Olathe, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 7 siblings; and a very large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosemary Conant and Elmer Carr; and brother, Dr. Jack Carr.
A rosary was held May 1, followed by visitation at Heaton-Bowman Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, 3609 Frederick Ave., St. Joseph, Mo. A Mass of Christian Burial was held May 15 at Cathedral St. Joseph. Burial was at the Agency Cemetery in Agency, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, it was Carol’s wish to have donations sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38215. Arrangements are with Heaton-Bowman Smith Funeral Home in St. Joseph.
