Herbert W. Cooper Jr. died Jan. 14, 2013, after brain tumor surgery. Herb was born on July 15, 1935, in Kansas City, Kan., to Evelyn (Sowers) Cooper and Herbert W. Cooper Sr. Cooper graduated from Denver North High School in 1953. He attended the University of Colorado and Aims Community College. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956. He was honorably discharged in 1960. He married his soulmate, Sharon Faas, on Aug. 16, 1959.
Herb worked for Hewlett-Packard in Loveland/Fort Collins for 30 years as a quality assurance specialist. He later worked at the Chilson Center in Loveland.
Herb served on the Crystal Lakes Water and Sewer Board of Directors and the Crystal Lakes Volunteer Fire Department. Herb is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon Cooper; son Scott (Wendy); grandchildren Andrew, Sammy, Kedra (Jesse); great-grandson Noah; and sister Norma Cooper-McRae.
